DevOps Engineer position

MiaRec is looking for talented, highly motivated candidates with 3+ years of Linux systems administration experience, scripting and programming knowledge, and experience managing application infrastructures on a large scale.

The DevOps team is primarily responsible for ensuring efficient and accurate deployments of systems into test and production environments and managing test resources for the Engineering department.

  • Operating systems: Centos/RedHat, Ubuntu, Windows
  • Development environment: Visual Studio, PyCharm, VIM
  • Continuous integration: Ansible, CircleCI, AppVeyor
  • Monitoring: Zabbix, Datadog, Amazon CloudWatch

What you will be doing:

  • Develop a self-healing operational infrastructure for cloud-based and premise-based applications
  • Design, build and maintain a secure Windows and Linux based server infrastructure
  • Define, implement & automate Continuous deployment, Zero-downtime, Rolling update workflows
  • Configure and deploy software developed by MiaRec as well as third-party Open Source Software such as Apache, NGINX, PostgreSQL, Redis, RabbitMQ, Ansible
  • Monitor and maintain the deployed MiaRec applications in the cloud and in customer premises
  • Troubleshoot complex issues ranging from system resources to application stack traces
  • Assist in on-call escalations of customer facing issues
  • Occasionally work nights/weekend(s) during the planned maintenance of the MiaRec's as well as customer's infrastructure
  • Evaluate advancements in DevOps, new infrastructure and tools; look for ways to bring more efficiency

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong Linux system administration skills needed, including best practices regarding installation, configuration, maintenance, and monitoring
  • Practical expertise in building high performance, highly scalable distributed systems deployed on the cloud (AWS or others)
  • Expert in scripting using configuration management tooling such as Ansible, Chef, CloudFormation
  • Expert in Continuous Integration (CI) tools such as Jenkins, CircleCI and similar
  • Experience with Git
  • Experience working with PostgreSQL database (installation, configuration, maintenance, and monitoring)
  • Experience working with monitoring tools like Zabbix, Datadog, Amazon CloudWatch and similar
  • Experience with server virtualization (VMWare and related)
  • Ability to troubleshooting network services and protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, SSH, SMTP, SSL, HTTP, SIP
  • Strong ability to troubleshoot complex issues ranging from system resources to application stack traces. Expected to participate in on-call escalations to troubleshoot customer facing issues
  • Willingness to occasionally work night/weekend(s) during scheduled maintenance windows
