Record calls on single Cisco IP Phone device
You need:
- Computer with Windows 2000, 2003, XP or Vista
- MiaRec Solo license
Most of Cisco IP phones have built-in HUB. They have two network ports: "LAN/WAN" and "PC".
The computer with MiaRec should be connected to the "PC" port on the back of the IP Phone (see below diagram).

If you have IP phone models 7941, 7961, 7970, and/or 7971, be sure to enable the Span to PC Port setting.
You can do this through IP Phone menu: Model Information -> Ethernet Information -> Span to PC Port should be "Yes" (restart of IP Phone is necessary).
If such menu on IP Phone is not available, then you need to open Cisco CallManager Administration and configure this setting there.
1) Verify that your Cisco Unified Call Manager Administrator has enabled the PC Port for your IP Phone (default is enabled).
This is located in CCM Administrator under Device —> Phone

2) Select your IP Phone and then scroll to the bottom of the page to find "Span to PC Port" —> Change to Enable

Restart of your IP Phone may be necessary.
